5 - 6 SEPTEMBER
GENERAL GUIDELINES
During this Seminar we'll be analyzing the overall structure of movement of Tango as a couple dance. We'll be reflecting on the evolution of the dance itself, of the perception of its movement characteristics and how the structure of movement can be thought nowadays in orther to improve and facilitate our access to it as social dancers.
We will learn how to perceive structures/sequences/steps as a means to an end. As a path towards the ability to manipulate each structure into a different one by controlling and managing its underlying concepts. In short, we'll move from the mere reproduction of memorized sequences into a truly free and criative improvisation.
By the end of this seminar, you will be able to answer the following questions:
«Is the classical "basic-step" in Tango the only true "basic-step" there is? How important is this structure actually is?»
«Tango, as a dance, can and should be thought entirely from the perspective of a "Giro". Why?»
«May I create my own personal sequences in Tango? How?»
